Stages & Stories

Join us in our hometown for Stages & Stories and the 10th Annual Wooden Boat Museum Annual General Meeting. The weekend events bring together tradition bearers, heritage enthusiasts, anyone and everyone to celebrate nautical crafts, taste traditional foods and share stories of days gone by.

September 13-15, 2019

Winterton & New Perlican

Take a ride in a motor boat or learn how to scull a punt. Try your hand at tying knots, knitting nets, hooking rugs, caulking boats and a variety of other activities taught by traditional bearers. Drop into the stages for a taste of traditional local foods like fish n’ brewis, toutons, fishcakes, baked beans and homemade bread with molasses. End the day with a home-cooked meal followed by an open-mic heritage circle of stories, recitations, music and more at the historic Society for United Fishermen Lodge no. 2.
