Each fall, the Wooden Boat Museum hosts an Annual Wooden Boat Conference to provide boat builders and heritage enthusiasts a weekend centred around Newfoundland and Labrador’s wooden boats. The conference features two days of presentations, discussions, workshops, and social activities.
Through workshops and demonstrations, boat builders and enthusiasts share techniques, building practices and knowledge from all parts of the province. Our Heritage Skills Challenge gives everyone the opportunity to learn a new skill and make new friends in the name of fun and friendly competition. Presentations and discussions highlight the important aspects of Newfoundland and Labrador’s wooden boats and maritime history. The weekend offers something for everyone interested in the heritage of our province and closes with dinner and an evening of entertainment.
Join us at our 11th Annual Wooden Boat Conference, presented in partnership with the Twillingate Isles Wooden Boat Builders Committee, and help us celebrate ten years as a Provincial Museum.
