Pinhorn Family Sponsorship

In memory of Wallace Pinhorn’s long time commitment to the Wooden Boat Museum, the Pinhorn Family has established a sponsorship to cover all fees for an eligible post-secondary student to attend the 2024 12-Week Boat Building Night Course.

Tuesdays and Thursdays

6:00pm to 9:00pm

Technology Education Lab (ED3050), G.A. Hickman Building, Memorial University

Offered in partnership with Memorial University Faculty of Education, join boat builder Jerome Canning twice a week to learn about traditional boat uses, designs and building techniques in Newfoundland and Labrador. This intensive 12-week workshop provides detailed instruction as you progress through each stage of building a 16’4″ rodney originally designed and built by Marcus French of Winterton, Trinity Bay.

Eligibility
• Currently enrolled in full-time or part-time post-secondary studies
• Available and committed to attend in-person classes
• Commitment to in-person attendance for program delivery
