Join us in our hometown for Planking ‘er Down: 16th Annual Wooden Boat Festival & Annual General Meeting. The weekend events bring together tradition bearers, heritage enthusiasts, anyone and everyone to celebrate nautical crafts, taste traditional foods and share stories of days gone by.

Take a ride in a motor boat or learn how to scull a punt. Try your hand at tying knots, knitting nets, hooking rugs, caulking boats and a variety of other activities taught by traditional bearers. Drop into the stages for a taste of traditional local foods like fish n’ brewis, toutons, fishcakes, baked beans and homemade bread with molasses. End the day with a home-cooked meal followed by an open-mic heritage circle of stories, recitations, music and more at the historic Society for United Fishermen Lodge no. 2.
